Overall it was a hard fought game with both teams trying their hardest to get through to the next round.  Hawkley battled hard and in the early stages took the game to Ashton.  Ashton a little nervous soon settled and started to control the game, Ben being the voice from the back directing his back line and as ever both Kieran and James never put a foot wrong.  Ashton build up play started at the back on the right flank, with good link up with Joe in the middle, ashton started to spread the ball around.  Chances started to come and this was down to Sam who never stop running to create the space up front.  Jason relished in the space that was provided by Sam who deservedly walked off with the man of match trophy for a exuberant display.  The first goal came from Sam amid a little goalmouth sramble to knock it past the goalkeeper.  Hawkley played with a lot of passion and never stopped trying to pass and move but Ashton were in a determined mood to put previous setbacks behind them to stay on course for the double.  The second half started much the same with Hawkley trying to apply pressure but it took a wonder goal from Lewis from outside the Hawkley box,hitting a sweet right foot past the keeper at his near post.  Again Hawkley tried to get back in the game and must be credited for their perseverance.  The game flowed from end to end with Hawkley having a couple of chances on goal and it was from a hawkley attack that resulted in a third for Ashton.  Lewis cut out a pass to chip the ball over his own head to the feet of Jason who ran on to hit it past the keeper.
