7th March 2010 Ashton Athletic 6 - 1 Hindley Junior Sharks
First of all thank you to Hindley Sharks for assisting Ashton and rearranging the fixture
Ashton could be guilty of over playing and over complicating, with some superb passing moves Ashton kept Hindley on the back foot all game. Callum opened the the scoring with a brilliant left drive to beat the keeper. Then Reagan made it 2-0 after a brilliant one-two with Matty. 2-0 half time was not the reward after some hardwork and good football but a lot of credit to some brilliant scrambling defence and superb goal keeping from Hindley. Callum started the second hakf like he did the first by getting the first goal, lobbing the keeper from wide out on the left. Ashton had a purple patch and kept the momentum going when Jamie got on the end of some good build up play to slot it past the keeper. Jake made it five after a good one-two between Callum and Faisal, Faisal crossed it in, Jake stepped over and dummied his man to beat the keeper. Ashton again overplaying and complicating things and you could sense Hindley would capitalise if they kept harrasing the Ashton play makers. Regan was a thorn in the Hindley side all day and broke down the right to cross it in for Jason to slot it home. Hindley had the last word after breaking the Ashton midfield to run on at the defence to beat Jimmy. 6-1 ft
