20th September 2009 Tyldesley Tigers 0 - 15 U11's

On a Glorious Sunday morning Ashton went about to put the demons of last week behind them.  With new signing James in goal and the panic of who would be going in nets behind them, the team seemed to have settled in to their normal fast pace passing and moving.  Ashton threatened from the start and a corner from Callum was cleared out but landed at Jakes feet and he didn’t waste the chance to test the goalie.  Jake settled the quickest and was dominating the right side with some superb passing with one of them being his trademark reverse step over pass.  It was Faisal that would get things rolling after some good work from Jake who played it through for Callum to set up Faisal to slot it home.  Again Ashton broke down the Tyldesley attack and Jake set off down the right to pull the ball back outside the box for Regan to power it past the keeper.  After more Ashton pressure Tyldesley scrambled the ball away for a corner.  Ashton very active in the box but nobody expected Callum to curl it in from the corner flag.  Tyldesley tried to mount some pressure but Ashton was in determined mood and again Callum found himself in a good position to tap in Regains saved shot.  Ashton back line of the ever dependable James, Jamie and Kieran gave the rest of the team the belief to push on.  From a break down the right and with some superb passing between Jake and Jason saw the latter supply a sublime cross for Callum to header home.  Jake was having a superb match and feeding off the hard work from Regan was cruelly robbed of finishing the game after getting a knock on his right ankle.  Lewis came on for Jake and the tempo of the game was unaffected, 0 – 5 ht.  Second half changes saw Matty come on for Faisal and Jamie being pushed up the right and Lewis in a holding position supporting Jason.  What a half this would be, straight from the kick off, Regan wrestled the ball from Tyldesley and good interplay with Jason, slotted the ball through for Lewis to beat the keeper.  It was Lewis again that would stretch the lead after some fantastic play between Regan, Callum and Jason.  Jason got on the score sheet after a one-two from Callum and Lewis.  Tyldesley started to show that they could pass it about but Ashton were adamant this game was going to be theirs with Regan again playing the ball through for Lewis to beat the keeper.  Faisal came on for Callum and soon carried on with his goal tally after getting on the end of a brilliant through ball from Lewis.  Kieran started to push up more from the back and was becoming a threat and with a superb right footed drive beat the keeper to the far post.  Faisal not to be out done did exactly the same to supply Lewis for his fourth.  Jamie enjoying his stint up the right read the through ball brilliantly from Callum to slot it past the keeper.  Faisal wanting to keep his goal tally going to keep up with Lewis got on the end of the final pass from passing move that involved the whole team.  It was Faisal that would have the final say of the day when he slotted home Kieran’s rebound.  Special mention to Tyldesley who did not stop trying and at 13-0 down their goal keeper showed what spirit they had when he encourage his team to get a goal and the Tyldesley supporters were a joy to stand with.
